Not weird, just different

One of my biggest pet peeves when looking at PPG art is when they make Bunny "normal" that if you're anything but cute and pretty you're a freak -.- though I can't say I'm so much as mad at the people drawing it, but our society for not educating our kids about down's syndrome and other special needs cases.

during my first year of high school I was like that, I'd see the "special" kids at their table that was separate from everyone else, see them go to their separate classes from everyone else and much like everyone else I thought "they're just so weird". as if by fate (though really because I was lazy) I got forced to participate in Special ed PE (because I gave my teachers to many "I just can't keep up" excuses) I hated it at first, I mean I felt insulted and embarrassed to be seen with them... yet as the weeks went on I discovered so much about these guys, things that made me think "we're really not so different". I might not have liked being in that class but I wouldn't take it back, I'm the luckiest person ever to meet them.

because I was in that situation I learned that different wasn't weird, it was just different and that's why I hope others learn that too as well as get up the nerve to associate with those who have special needs.
